– Will The Villain of Die Hard 5 Be A Member of The Gruber Clan?

If they start following, whether it be intentional or not, following the Star Trek “Pattern”, the villain will indeed be a Gruber. Hans Gruber (played by Alan Rickman; Bottle Shock) was in the first film. Simon Gruber (played by Jeremy Irons; Man In The Iron Mask) starred in the third film.

Out of the 4 films to date, I have to say the best villains were the two Grubers that we have seen. Though I still like all the movies. I really liked Live Free or Die Hard but wished they kept the hard R-rating we are all accustomed to with the first three movies. Yes, the action was still great but how do you even sleep at night after even thinking about editing John McClane’s signature line?

I’m excited to see more John McClane saving the day even if Bruce Willis doesn’t have hair anymore. Give him a gun, let him curse and let the body count rise.

– John Woo’s The Killer Getting An English-Language, 3D Remake

If you end up watching this sometime in the future make sure you watch the original before you mind is wrongfully tainted by this disastrous remake that will be added to the long list of Hollywood remakes that keep coming out. The original, which is painfully hard to say with the remake already in production, starred Chow Yun-Fat (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Corrupter). I will not be watching this and the fact that it’s being filmed in 3D just seals the deal.

– Katherine Heigl Replaces Halle Berry in New Years’ Eve

….Because at some point the same character she has played in every movie since the one that got her in the Hollywood spotlight, Knocked Up, has got to work at some point? Yeah, that’s not happening.. I’ll admit I liked The Ugly Truth but her second best film will always be Under Siege 2: Dark Territory, which is sad. At least until she starts to believe she’s talented and branches out.

In this film, a follow-up to Valentine’s Day,  her love interest will be Jon Bon Jovi, 16 years her senior. This movie is going to suck just like the first time around. But women fall for this crap and they drag us along so we’ll see another one in this series in a year or two.

— Henry Cavill Cast as Zack Snyder’s Superman

Like with Superman Returns, the men behind the film looked for an unknown to play the titular character. Having only starred in a small handful of films such as Stardust, Tristan & Isolde and Count of Monte Cristo (he played Albert Mondego, the son of Count Mondego), they have found a relatively unknown. I for one thought Brandon Routh was an excellent choice for taking over the red cape in the last film and was hoping he would still be able to play the role once again. But the men behind the film, along with Warner Bros. do not want any connection between the films….even though it is inevitably going to happen no matter what they do. Oh, and the men behind the 2nd attempt at bringing back the Superman franchise are Christopher Nolan , who magnificently brought life back into the Batman franchise, will be serving as a producer on the film and Zack Snyder (300, Dawn of The Dead, Sucker Punch), who was picked by Christopher Nolan himself, has been given the directorial reigns.

So I personally can’t have anything but faith in these guys to bring us something spectacular on-screen. It will be interesting to see how Zack Snyder’s vision will be shown with Christopher Nolan there beside him. Only time will tell.

— Robin Willliams To Play Dr. Hugo Strange in Dark Knight Rises?

Robin Williams is an amazing dramatic actor though I believe it’s safe to say that when his name is heard, comedy is the first thing that comes to mind. What stands as a rumor right now, Robin Williams would be playing a Batman-obsessed villain psychologist. I don’t know about you guys, but this sounds awesome. With the recent announcement of Anne Hathaway (Love and Other Drugs, The Devil Wears Prada) playing Selina Kyle/Catwoman and Tom Hardy (Inception, RocknRolla) playing Bane….this is going to be on helluva ending to Christopher Nolan’s Batman Trilogy…..especially if they follow a story arc in the comic books relating to Bane….the audience may just poop themselves.
